Introducing a new line of greeting cards, "Suitable for Framing!"
- coming, very soon, to my
Art166 "Small Works" Shop.

*

Up, up, and away!

Did you want to grow up to be an astronaut? I did, and still would, if the opportunity presented itself. (Be an astronaut, I mean -- not grow up!) Until then, I can look over an astronaut's shoulder by watching NASA TV. It's free, and currently a lot of Space Shuttle Discovery and International Space Station feed is running.

In addition to hearing commentary and conversation by the crew, there's also NASA commentary and special events, like this morning's AP/USA Today in-flight interview at 7:18 a.m. CST.

Watching those guys float around is just fun; and the views from the earth-side windows is awe-inspiring.

Another space walk, tomorrow!

So, if you've ever wondered what goes on up there, click the following link, choose your video player of choice, and enjoy! I've spent many insomnia-related hours at NASA TV. It sure beats watching endless infomercials. Who needs cable?

Here's the link: Nasa TV

I've posted three new pieces in the "Profondo Rosso" gallery over at Art166.com! That's either exciting or distressing news, depending on where you stand on this red series. From here, it's ALL excitement!

*

The "Great Greeting Card Caper" is on temporary hold. While attempting to run a couple of very late night test prints, I ran into some major technical issues (paper & template crises) which will take me a while to sort out. No biggie.

*

"Oppressive heat."

Those are two words I don't like hearing during the first weather forecast of the day.

In other news, a local grandmother solves a family dispute (knives and stabbing were involved!) with a 14" cast iron skillet. Two men are hospitalized.

Go, granny!

  1. Yay, a new entry...I love all of them! Couldn't pick a favorite!

Sorry to hear about your template/printing troubles! (and the weather) Oppressive heat and humidity would make me want to crawl in a cave.

  3. I like no two. I feel like I am under water.

  4. The 2nd one is also my favourite! Nice works indeed! Look forward to your next series.

  5. Hi, Cynthia,

When I first relocated here, crawling into a cave was the number one thing on my mind, most days. Until I realized the heat goes on for, like, nine months of the year!. Which would make the "cave" idea really counter-productive -- to everything! I do hid out behind closed doors with the A/C blasting, though.

When my Lotto numbers come up, it's, "Washington State -- here I come!" (Washington State is my dream destination of choice -- or Alberta, Canada. C'mon Publisher's Clearing House!)

Glad you like the pics and don't have a favorite. I say, "Like 'em all!"

  7. Good morning, Betty!

That's exactly the feeling I wanted to suggest; glad you like it!

  8. Thank you, fennymun! #2 is my favorite, too. That is my absolute favorite shade of blue. Once I decided to use that color, the piece just needed "bubbles"!

I love it when a plan comes together!

  9. Number one is my FAVE, I just love it.
Hum, oppressive heat.I remember vividly the moment I stepped off the plane in 1978. My first moments in America I breathed in and felt like my lungs were on fire. It was a shocker.

well that is one gran I wouldn't want to mess with LOL!

    Hi WJ!
I really like the first one and LOVE the second one!! I love the contrast of color and shapes!

We are about to go thru a few days of horrible heat here too. Starting today. (heat warnings are already posted for now thru the weekend) But, lol, our oppressive heat is (I think) cooler than your oppressive heat. Ours is only going to be in the mid 90's with of course high humidity.

Talk with you soon, have a great day!

  13. i absolutely love the middle picture. how gorgeous! what a nice treat to look.

hope you have been well. take care.

  14. The middle picture reminds me of a lava lamp I once had. A granny with a frying pan is dangerous unless she is on the side of good.

  15. Whoa we definitely need lots more grannys like that one!! What a picture that puts in my mind LOL! I love all three of these W.J.! They are psychedelic cool but oooh I love that 2nd with that blue and the bubbles, very soothing!

  16. Thanks, Jafa,

No kidding! Before I moved here, I thought 100 degrees only happened on that Twilight Zone episode -- the one where the earth was moving closer to the sun.

  17. Thank you, Shilo!

It's a miracle any of us are at all creative! Doesn't heat kill brain cells?

  18. Thank you, Cindy,

    Good to see you here!

  21. Hi, Dr. John!

I still have a lava lamp. Who doesn't?

Granny was definitely on the side of good, and is being touted as a "hero" by the local authorities. It seems she prevented a couple of family members from being killed (stabbed) by another!

  22. Lynette, I'm betting you're already on the road!

Have a safe and wonderful journey!
