~ The heat is on!

Playing with fire is bad for those who burn themselves. For the rest of us, it is a very great pleasure.
~ Author Unknown

Man is the only creature that dares to light a fire and live with it. The reason? He alone has learned to put it out.
~ Henry Jackson Vandyke, Jr.

If you ever catch on fire, try to avoid seeing yourself in the mirror, because I bet that's what really throws you into a panic.
~ Jack Handey

Since the house is on fire, let us warm ourselves.

  1. Hi WJ, it looks like a photo of mountain fire to me! BTW, I like the quotes you put up here, esp the one by Jack Handey.

    Have a nice weekend!

  2. W.J., thanks a lot for your encouraging comments on my Flickr. Indeed, I like that one very much and wondering why it doesn't seem to be 'popular' among my visitors. You are more than welcome to link to it:)

  3. Wow this is a scorcher W.J. and so many images here; a demon rising from hell, fire god, forest fire.... could look at this one for hours and see something different each time. Fabulous!

Hope you are having a great weekend and are refreshed for the coming celebrations. Happy Christmas W.J. and thank you for such a magical glimpse into your imagination.

  6. Welcome back, Sandy! I really loved doing this piece and I'm so glad you enjoyed seeing it! I really appreciate your effort to leave all those "catch-up" comments. They're great!

I'm very pleased to share my imagination with you, as you share so much of your own magic in return. Have a very Merry Christmas, Sandy, and take lots of pictures!

  7. Hi, Dr. John! I was concerned that you'd realize this pic is of burning trees and would immediately give it the thumbs down. I'll remember to set my trees ablaze before posting them!

Oh gosh -- I'm a WIN-NAH! I'd like to thank my agent, my publisher, and everyone else involved in this project . . . ooops, wrong speech!

Thanks, Dr. John. I'm headed over to Pic a Prize!

'If you ever catch on fire, try to avoid seeing yourself in the mirror, because I bet that's what really throws you into a panic.'

How true! I had a electrical fire a few yrs. ago! It was very scarry! I lost everything except my 2 beautiful children! I had just stopped back home to use the phone on the way 2 an interview, while I was downstairs, my whole upstairs broke out into a major blaze. I wish this on No-One!

  10. WJ this is so gorgeously done!! I can almost feel the heat coming off this! Did the weather ever cool off out there? It's been very warm here the last few days and my husband has been all broke out in hives like it does when it turns warm. :(

  13. WJ!!!!!

Aswell as loking like a forest fire, this looks like you've taken a glowing ember under a microscope and discovered a tiny firey world. Awesome!!
